September 20:
Presenter: Graywolf, Chumash Leader. Will discuss history and culture of Native Americans who lived in the Simi Hills/Santa Susana Mountains. Graywolf is curator of the Chumash Indian Museum in Thousand oaks, Movie Prop Designer (worked on The Pirates of Caribbean) and musician.

October 18:
Presenter: Jerry England, author and historian will discuss film making at Iverson Ranch (North of 118 Fwy), Burro Flats (Santa Susana Field Lab), and other movie studies in the area that produced Western TV/Films such as Roy Rogers, The Lone Ranger, and thousands of Western "Oaters." England will present a video of movie stills shot on location throughout this area, including Westerns, and films such as Tarzan and "The Fighting Seebees" featuring John Wayne.
November 15:
Presenters: Boeing and NASA: Blast off with Rocket History covering the Santa Susana Field Lab (SSFL): All unmanned space rocket engines were designed and tested in our backyard (SSFL and North American Aviation/Rocketdyne, Canoga Park.) SSFL rocket engine testing for manned flights from the Saturn 1B rocket and successor, Saturn V rocket, Apollo manned space missions (Apollo 11 - moon landing in 1969) and the Space Shuttle Main Engine (SSME), rocket engine testing is part of our landscape and space flight history.

Photography Night: Led by John Luker, V.P., SSMPA Members and local residents are welcome to present your photos taken featuring the Simi Hills-Santa Susana Mountain area. This is an opportunity to show your favorite photos for the enjoyment of sharing with others. Each photographer will discuss their photo, location taken, history/information, etc. Each person can submit up to eight photos. Details will be provided on SSMPA's website and Newsletter in November on handling submissions.
